Hourly wage employees are paid biweekly (on Fridays). Work weeks run from Sunday to Saturday, with two weeks appearing on each timesheet. The timesheet is to be submitted by noon every other Sunday and approved by that Monday in order for a check to be issued the following Friday.
- Classified
Full-time and part-time staff are paid on the 1st and 16th of each month. If the 1st or 16th falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the pay date is the preceding Friday.
Classified employees are required to submit timesheets for each pay period. The paycheck issued on the 1st of the month is for work performed from the 10th through the 24th of the previous month. The paycheck issued on the 16th of the month is for work performed from the 25th of the previous month through the 9th of the current month.
- Faculty/Admin
12-month faculty are paid on the 1st and 16th of each month. The paycheck issued on the 1st of the month is for work performed or leave taken from the 10th through the 24th of the previous month. The paycheck issued on the 16th of the month is for work performed or leave taken from the 25th of the previous month through the 9th of the current month. 12-month faculty do not complete timesheets, but are issued leave balance sheets along with their paycheck on the 1st of the month. The faculty member should complete the leave balance sheet, indicating any leave taken during the previous month, and return the completed and signed sheet to the Payroll Office. The faculty member should sign and return the sheet to the Payroll Office each month even if no leave has been used. 12-month faculty who are on 100% special sponsored programs are not granted annual leave and therefore do not receive the monthly leave balance sheets.
- Graduate Teaching and Research Assistants
Graduate Assistants are paid on the 1st and 16th of each month during the academic semesters, receiving a total of 9 checks if working the full semester. The first paycheck of fall semester is issued on September 16, and the final fall paycheck is issued on January 16. The first paycheck of spring semester is issued on February 1, and the final spring semester paycheck is issued on June 1. Assistants conducting research during the summer receive their first summer paycheck on June 16 and final check on September 1, if working the entire summer period.
