My Dad was career Army, and I'm proud to be an "Army brat". Continuing the family tradition, my sister was an Army nurse for several years, and I received a commission as a Navy Supply Corps officer after graduating from college.
I consider myself to be a Virginian, since my family moved to Virginia when I was nine years old. I'm a graduate of Mary Washington College (now, the University of Mary Washington), in Fredericksburg , Virginia.
My husband and I met in Crystal City when we were both Supply Corps lieutenants stationed at two different commands, but both located in the same building. We were married in the post chapel at Fort Myer . We have two children, a son and a daughter. My son is a graduate of George Mason University , and my daughter is a graduate of the Naval Academy . Both of them are currently serving in the military. My son is in the Navy, and my daughter is in the Marine Corps. The family tradition continues!!
Back in 1991, a friend of mine encouraged me to apply for a twenty-hour a week wage position with Telecom Admin. Since that time, I have seen both my children and the University mature. It's been a fast fifteen years!
